So I'm not really sure whether or not I slept last night. I went to bed at 11:30 since I had to get up early this morning to drive Mom in and go to work, but... I spent a very, very long time tossing and turning, not sleepy at all. Eventually, the outside got lighter and I heard birds, and at that point, looked at the clock to see it was 6:30. >.> I dunno, I guess sleeping in until noon yesterday might've had something to do with it... Plus the mini-nap I had in the sun.

I redeemed a Timmy's free-coffee thing this morning, though, and on that cup I won another free coffee! :D

Men are pigs. Filthy-dirty-pigs. Especially toolsy types. My new job, incidentally, is cleaning. The actual office-place isn't that bad - took me four hours last week and two and a half this week, but it's just big. The other place, which is four rooms all told, takes just as long even though it's less than half the size, because it's disgusting. Admittedly, a lot of the dust that gets on the floor and such is just iron-dust and stuff that's tracked in when the guys come in for their lunch, which you can't really do anything about, but I've never seen a bathroom so icky before! And the clothes and boots piled around on the first day (when apparently they're not supposed to be) didn't help matters much.

The job is a good workout, though (bits of me hurt until Wednesday last week), and it'll at least give me a bit of spending money. My bank account is in a sorry state.

Figured out what I'm doing with Midgardy-folks, yay! I still SHUT UP MICROSOFT QUIT BUGGING ME ABOUT UPDATES ... still have to do the apps for Second Heaven, which may or may not get done today. Luckily the CR-thing was extended another week.

The picture I had done of Daelin got Daily Deviationed on Wednesday! I was just checking up on the artist's page, and noticed that he'd managed to have 4000+ hits on it. All of her art is gorgeous - I wonder why they happened to pick his portrait, rather than one of the really pretty non-simplecommission things she had up? XD Hah, either way. Poor foxy would blush right through his fur, though, if he knew that many people were staring at him.

Registered for courses for next semester. Managed to overlook the fact that you actually have to be declared in something for Ling to take upper-level courses. XD So I went in and changed my major on Wednesday, and once that goes through, Margo'll change my CS major to a minor. Hooray!

Speaking of CS, though, I'm running again in the elections for the CSSS, for treasurer. So far, it looks like I'm running unopposed, which is awesome... But kinda cheap-feeling at the same time. XD My opponent will end up being a can of pop or something on the ballot, hehe. At least we'll be able to pull the Society out of the ground - the last executive ended up being... rather useless, to say the least.
So grrrr-ish, though! Jen (the current president) seems to have this idea that she's planning the next executive, which is just a) sheer silliness to begin with and b) all kinds of wrong, seeing as she was absolutely terrible in office! Her attitude, however, is what completely irks me - snooty and absolutely disapproving of anyone 'interfering' with her plans. We actually managed to get her upset, a group of us, when we convinced Allen to run for VPO instead of President, as she wanted - she said something akin to 'thanks for ruining the society, guys' as she stormed off.
...'Scuse me, bitch? You did a pretty good job of that one yourself.
I don't like her, argghg. At least she's graduating and we won't have to put up with her bull in the new executive.

(Funny how even though my major-allegiance is changing, I likely won't end up going near the Ling common room or whatever groups they have. Heh.)

I found out the neatest thing ever about '39! Yes, the Queen song. I was actually talking to Trav about it when we were at the wedding (because they played Fat Bottomed Girls instead of the Rhapsody, and I bemused that '39 was a track that no-one would probably ever play out of the blue, which is a pity). It's a really folksy-sounding song, and when I first heard it, I assumed it was about WWII - it's kind of that sort of imagery, volunteers sailing away on a ship and all of that. But there were always a few things out of place - a couple of lines that made me frowny-face and go 'hmmm', because they didn't really... fit. Example, "For so many years have gone though I'm older but a year, your mother's eyes from your eyes cry to me".
But last night, I read the Wikipedia article on it, and it all clicked into place! It's really about a group of volunteers who go from Earth (which is all dying or something) to find a new planet for the people to live! Except they experience time dilation, so when they get back having found a shiny new place, only one year has passed for them, but a hundred years gone down on Earth.
So everything kinda fell into place, and it makes a whole lot more sense now! :D It's very Fireflyish, really. Or maybe Firefly is '39ish?

Lastly, I would very much like to know why dad hid chocolate eggs all over the house when he was here this morning - Easter's not for another week?
