Woots, content!
May. 7th, 2007 10:37 pmSo I haven't written anything of substance in a couple weeks. Let's fix that~
Exams, exams, done done. Marks back - ended up with three As and an A-. Best semester I've ever had, hehe. Let's see if we can replicate that this semester! Although I likely will not be aceing 300. But I'll get to that.
Executive retreat happened a couple of weekends ago in Whistler, much to everyone's surprise. Much discussion and drinking and hottubbing was had. There may or may not be incriminating photos. Stuff got done, at least, and I think that we'll be back on our way to making the Society good again (if people can stop 'thieving' from my pizza float, grrr!). The only bit of crap so far is that Ted will probably have to resign from his presidency - he got offered an eight-month co-op job at the airport, and will probably take it, so.
Trav for president~! Heehee.
Speaking of Trav, him and Aimee and Andy and Eugene found a place in Burnaby, so they'll be starting to move in next weekend. I can imagine I'll be spending a little bit of time over thataway, hehe.
I had my own party this past weekend~ People came, fun was had, etc etc. It wasn't a really huge affair, but I wasn't expecting it to be, what with most everyone living across the river, hehe. Everyone had a good time, though, I think, so that's what matters, yes?
Classes started today again for the summer. I'll be taking MACM 300 (formal languages and automablag), Chinese 101, and Ling 260 (sociolinguistics under a bigger and fancier name).
Haven't had Chinese yet, so can't say anything about that, but ling looks like it'll be interesting. The professor has a bit of a habit of rambling, and is a leetle hard to understand sometimes 'cause he has something of a heavy Russian or German accent - can't exactly place it. But the material kinda looks neat. The only couple of problems so far seem to be in my classmates - three of the bimbo idiots from 221 are in it, and there's one mature-student-lady who just irritates me on the basis of too much head-nodding and interrupting to ask stupid questions. Sigh.
300 is probably going to rape me up the ass, because I haven't done anything either theoretical or mathy since spring 2006, and that was a fun adventure, oh yes. I dunno. We'll see how it goes.
I kept wincing against the urge to sneak down below the desk every time Burton said 'but I imagine you're all here since you're interested and like this sort of thing', or something to that effect. He said it a few times. (Help?)
I am interested, and figure it'll do me some good, but I'm also thinking it might be out of my range of abilities, and I really don't like math. At least Trav is in the class, too, but I don't want to be using him as a crutch, rawr.
Let's-see-what-else. Oh, I'm apparently better at badminton than Trav is. We went out and bought a set last week, and in the three games we've played, I've managed to trounce him every time. Badminton's one of the few sports I don't turn my nose up at, hehe.
RPing has been going somewhat slow, partially from my lack of time, and partially due to everyone else going somewhat MIA - my interest in Kithkanan poofed by the time the managers got back, so I'm on a hiatus over there, Furc's somewhat slow at the moment, and the latest timeskip did nada as to Midgard's activity levels. I don't want to mention the D-word, but... Well, everyone seems to have gone off and got active with other games, people aren't replying to each others' posts, and... Eh. I dunno. I haven't been very active myself, and have been considering putting a character or two on NPC status, but we'll see how it goes.
Also, certain people on Furcadia are assholes. The kind that up and goes threatening to quit if they don't get their fucking way all the time. Jerks. They do it again, and I swear, I won't move a muscle to stop 'em. Rarsrklgerlkhg.
Anywhoo, I think that is all I had to blather on about, so off I shall go!
