Craziness

So I never blog from campus, but today so far has just been full of squishy craziness, and therefore, I blog before I forget it all.

It's also currently 2.75 hours before my last exam. Yay. I should re-study shortly.

Anyways, I figured since I'd be up here anyways that I would get the CSSS's bank run done today. This proved to be nigh-impossible because we were out of damn quarter rolls, and the coin box in the pop machine was goddamn overflowing - apparently two weeks during exam season without being emptied is just too much for it.

So I went down off the hill to fetch quarter rolls! This was a much easier venture when the dollar store was still on campus, but alas, now it is not. Off I go to wait for the 135. While I am waiting for the bus to leave, I happen to look up from fiddling with my iPod (which ironically was playing Houkiboshi at the time), and a big goddamn group of shinigami captains and lieutenants walk by, headed for the sushi store. One of them had a very nicely done overcoat thing.

Well! I think to myself. The anime convention must be this weekend. I do believe my suspicions were confirmed when I later saw Reno hanging around the other bus loop.

So, giggling from that incident, we head off from the loop. Now, as we reach the mainish loop underneath the convo mall, we are treated with a rather amusing sight - a cold freight truck has managed to get itself stuck under the right tunnel. Scraped right up against the concrete and not movin'. I think they were trying to let the air out of the tires, but it took at least an hour before the damn thing was gone.

After picking up folk, we head on our way down the mountain itself... And a little ways past the residence stop, we come to an even odder sight - a car has somehow managed to get itself up the one-way road that goes down, and is motoring along in fear of its life. The bus driver comes to a stop, honks at it, and does a complex series of signals. The car manages to do a U-turn in the middle of the road and head back down, this time going the correct way. I'm not really sure how exactly they could have got on that road that way... Unless they turned onto the 'oh shit we don't want to go this way let's go back up' road that's before the main entrance. I do believe there is a sign that clearly says 'NO ENTRY' on the exit of that road, though.

Anyways, I pick up my quarter rolls, come back, roll the change, discover that 800.00 in coins is very heavy, and again return to the bus stop to go deposit it. By the time the bus leaves and rolls into the tunnel loop, it is time for the numerous day camps to be let out, which means numerous parents waiting in cars to pick up their kidlets. This also means there is a rather unproportional number of stupider-than-normal drivers clogging the roads. One bus-horn-blast was given to a van parked in the bus lane - and then another, because whoever was driving just kind of looked backwards at the driver with a "BUH?" look on his face. Another horn blast was delivered as we tried to move beyond the three-way stop after the loop, because apparently cars are faster than busses and therefore think it's okay to go out of turn. Another two hornblasts were given to the idiot driver of a shiny silver Mazda who thought that, because his car was shiny and silver and obviously much faster and cooler than a bus, thought that it was okay to speed up and cut the bus off right before the two lanes merged into one just after the three-way, in risk of almost (but not quite, unfortunately; it was a very close thing) having the bus plow right into it. I think someone is obviously not a physics student, because they seem to not know that mass is a very important thing when dealing with momentum.

So this is four times more than I have ever heard a bus honk at anyone before. I am, at once, amused and horrified.

I think it's safe to say that, judging by the trend I have seen today, if anyone is going for their driver's license today, they will not be getting it and will probably be killing themselves and their tester in a fiery wreck.

I am going to stay in the common room until my exam, hiding from the morons. That is all~
