I are sick and injured. ;.;
Injured because of my new exercise regime, which includes copious amounts of DDR, weight training up at the rec center, and a belly dancing class, of which the first lesson I had Sunday.
At the least, I am getting better at DDR. I've done a couple of nine-footers that I haven't been able to do previously (Break Down heavy was one of them, forget the other), and I don't seem to be getting quite to 'omg dying' after a largeish session.
Weight training I hate, but it has to be done. My past couple of days have been kind of light since I haven't been feeling the greatest. Just working on getting things toned, mostly, and losing some of the fatty bits of me arms and belly. I've put in a request for a personal trainer, too, to help me get a proper program worked out, but I haven't heard back from the centre yet about that.
Belly dancing seems to be fun, so far. The class's an hour and a half every week, first half hour mostly yoga stretches, and the rest on maneuvers and choreography. It should help my flexibility some, anyways (never been able to touch my toes; my calf muscles are too unbendy). Also learned how to play the zill-things - finger cymbals - a little so far. Ting ting. I kept up pretty well - it's a multilevel course, rather than just beginners, for some odd scheduling reason - but I didn't expect my arms, of all things, to be so sore the day after. Weiiiiird.
So that is why I'm sore. I'm also coming down with a cold - had a sore throat yesterday, and that's escalated into sorer throat and excess of mucus everywhere today. Probably hung around Trav too much when he had his cold. Oh well.
Today was kind of a bummer in other ways, too. When I was coming out from my workout at the rec centre to go to the mall - I wanted to pick up some new exercise pants, 'cause I don't really have anything - the sky opened up. Thankfully, I had taken my umbrella, but this did not stop the flash flooding from soaking my feet and jeans halfway up to my knees. Seriously, there were rivers running through the damn parking lots.
I proceeded to get my pants (almost breaking my bank account in the process), and left the store to go catch the bus - which was late, due to the huge traffic buildup because of the bits of flooded road on 104th. It was only once I was on the bus that I realized my umbrella was not with me; probably left it in a changeroom somewhere.
So, already soaked, I proceeded to walk home from the local grocery store (needed brown sugar, cookies) in more rain and arrive home pretty dratted soaking. Add this to the sniffles and the soreness and I was not such a happy camper.
Oh well. As promised, have some kitty pictures:
( Eris! )
( Eeee what's that??? )
( Put me dooooooown. )
( Armadillocat. )
( Save me from the filth. )
( Cat and mouse. )
( Bonus: have a Marmwich. )
