Sep. 11th, 2008 02:55 amFrom my third-year semantics course's first assignment:
7. Let function F be a unary function that maps any number x to 3x-2 (i.e. F(x) = 3x-2). What is the value of this function if the argument is 7?
...OH HAY LET ME THINK ABOUT THAT FOR A SECOND
I'M A LINGUISTICS STUDENT, I TOTALLY DON'T KNOW WTF THIS ALGEBRA SHIT IS
(it is 19 right, I can't help but look at it and go 'shit, is this a trick question? it must be a trick question, it can't possibly be that easy')
At least the question about the inverse of complements vs the complements of inverses required a few seconds of thought.
