Man. I swear, we need to rename one of the diabetes-es to something else. I'm friggin' sick and tired of people saying shit that only applies to type 2 with the broad stroke of 'diabetes'. Why no, I'm sorry, your awful raw vegan diet will not control my diabetes without meds, thanks. Rrrrghleflkjf.

Maybe it isn't too-too much of a victory, but still - I ended up placing first in one of Furc's latest batches of contests. Apparently I can write a decent world domination speech. Got me the rough equivalent of 40 bucks to spend on stuff, anyways; thought that was rather nice. Maybe I'll commission some arts, yarr~

Saw a really neat sunset last week whilst I was driving home from work. My drive basically takes me heading to the west for a while through wooded ranchland, and then turns to the north for a longer while through a valley with fields and farmland. From the time that I stepped out of the office 'til the time that I hit the valley itself, I found it rather difficult to pull my eyes away from the west - it was a cold day, but mostly clear, the first one we'd had that wasn't rainy or grey for quite some time, and the sky lit up in one of those spectacular firey orange, purple, pink, and blue sunsets. The best part of it, though, I didn't even get the chance to see until I reached the lower points of the valley - off to the northeast, the moon just barely rising above the snow-topped shadows of the mountains, huge and yellow and gleaming. Rainbow sun setting in the southwest, golden moon rising in the northeast, and the light and shadows and mountains just playing there for the hell of it.
I don't often lament my lack of artistic ability, but then was one of those times. You can paint a picture with words, sure, but sometimes things just have to be seen and appreciated.
...'Course, couldn't render it very well without enclosing someone in a sphere of canvas, but still.
