Annnnd the accompanying post-Yule post.
Dec. 26th, 2004 10:38 pmFirstoff, though, I'd like to comment on the lack of Bleach 11. Damn you, Lunar, your translators are supposed to be never-sleeping, never-celebrating, never-doing-anything-but-translating monkeys! No holidays for them! BLAFLHRELH!
On that note, onto presents and stuff. XD
Well, I did myself a good turn and ordered a present for myself the night before Christmas. Hooray, I now have a matched set of dragon and phoenix avatars - and they threw in a gryphon for one of the holiday specials. XD Four avatars for the price of twooooo.
So I now have Dragonfire running about as a dragon in medieval (both Euro and Japanese) dreams, Icewing running about as an anka in various places, and Serenne bedecked out as a valkyrie-gryphon-warrior. w00tz.
I wonder why I stick to predator species so much? XD Hell, half of my characters on Furc are kitsune or foxes, a couple are wolves, there's a few felines of various types, a dragon, a gryphon, a quaggoth (look it up if'n you don't know what those are, but they're like gigantic, stupid, shaggy bear-men), and an anka (and for those of you unversed in Arabian mythology, the anka is a giant bird said to live in mountains and other icy places, who appears to doomed travellers lost in their domain, and also had the nasty habit of carrying off small children and babies as snacks. XD Icewing's a baby-eater!). No sign of any horses, mice, otters, rabbits, or squirrels, though.
But anywhoo.
As for actual gifties from other people... Well, the list's a little shorter than previous years; this year was a 'cut-back' one. Mom and Dad want to remodel the kitchen, so money needed to be saved... >.> And secondly, I need money for tuition and/or textbooks. So not as many presents for meee.
I did get, however - $50 from the grandparents (which is going right into my bank account to pay for the avatars XD), Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Baten Kaitos, some comfy (and warm, thankee) pajamas, various fancy undergarments, lots of assorted chocolate, a few books, a new pair o' pants for work, and many many bath-and-smelly items (including such scents as mango, papaya, green apple, satsuma orange, rice apricot, and vanilla; heck, that's almost enough for a different scent every day of the week XD).
Me dad managed to surprise me with one thing, however... I walked into the room, and my eyes drifted to a strange pot on the mantle. "...Is there any reason why there's a bonsai sitting on the mantle?"
Yeeeeah, so I now have a Chinese Juniper. XD Might be Japanese, but I think it's Chinese. A few clicks online and I figured out how to look after it - didn't think that bonsai were outdoors plants, but apparently most of the true trees are. Dryad's now sitting outside, nestled against the house, out of where she might end up drowned (knowing our weather ^^; ).
Yes, I named her Dryad, and gave her a gender, and IDON'TCAREIFANYONETHINKSIT'SSILLY.
As for Trav's present that I hinted about...
Turned out that the tantalizing tiny box hid a pair of white chocolate hedgehogs - those thing'sre goooood.
But that wasn't the end of it. Somehow, whilst I was at work on Friday, he managed to get over here and sneak another, significantly larger box under the tree, with the aiding and abetting of me dad.
That box contained a very large ball of yarn, suspended from four ribbons that hung from each top corner of the box. ^^;;; Damnit, I am not a cat!
I ended up having to play with the yarn anyways, though - hidden inside of that was another tiny-box - and inside that one was a twisted-rope necklace of silver, adorned with a silver-dragon charm. ^^ Good time for it, too - all of my other draco-necklaces have managed to get broken or go missing recently.
And Marma is enjoying the yarnbox, meanwhile. XD
Then, we feasted last night - turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauceyuuuuuum. Thankfully, mother-dear did not get preachy - I guess she assumed we've already had enough battles over that this month.
And as for today, I've mostly been lazing about, and baking more cookies. Back to work tomorrow, after all.
And laundry, actually. There has been no end to the laundry today. Baaaaah.
On a more-fun note, KawaiiWolf and I were talking earlier tonight... Apparently there has been some discussion between her and Moony about doing a nostal-RP about the olden days of Izlen. ^^ I haven't used me wolfies in their proper setting in the longest time... What, it was grade 11 or 10 when I started playing there? Yeesh, that was a while ago.
It'd be interesting to see how much better our posts would be, comparing them between the old ones and new ones on the same topics... XD
But I think bedtime is rapidly approaching... Should be at work for quarter-to-nine-ish tomorrow. Boooo.
On that note, onto presents and stuff. XD
