Another year, more reflections.
Jan. 2nd, 2005 02:33 pmMrf, well, the new year has started off, as I'm sure everyone knows (and I hate to think of your poor brain if you don't). Spent the eve/day with Travis and his friends/family - we attended a party over at his pal Jason's place, where there was much gaming (Trivial Pursuit - which we won at, of course, Halo 2, and Pictionary), food (freezies! Yay!), and a requisite of drinking, of course.
And The Nightmare Before Christmas, too, but I ended up conking out whilst snuggled against Trav during it. ^^; Oh well.
Braved the chilly night to walk back to his place, whereupon I stole one of his sisters' room and crashed. XD Stayed over for dinner that night, had a good helping of roast beef and other random stuff, and eventually diddled back home after spending exactly 28 hours away. XD Heehee.
We also went to the Steamworks that's opened at Park Royal for Andy's pre-New Year's bash (his parents wouldn't let him hold a party on New Year's, but they were okay with the day before, heh). Quite good food and drinking there, mmhm.
Went back to his place for a bit after that, and watched the Boondock Saints - interesting movie, kinda funny in places even with its extremely dark nature. I stayed out far too late, for I did have work early the next day - and when I tried to get home, ran into a little problem. ^^; We had parked under a rail-bridge near Andy's house, with my car ending up being blocked in by the others. After trying to worm it out unsuccessfully - and thus getting stuck with only one foot each way between two other cars ^^; - I finally had to call Andy and get him to send someone out to move a car.
Had any of the three been moved, I could've escaped - but of course, they had to block me off just perfectly. ^^;;;
Aside from those two events, though, it's been rather quiet. I've been working more than anything, doing the full-time thang with Reema off on vacation. Goooood paycheck this week. XD
But now that it is the new-year, I suppose 'tis time to look back upon the old.
Overall, it hasn't been too bad - a few times of distraughtness and arguments aside. Really, the whole getting-almost-kicked-out-of-house was the worst part.
The better parts more than made up for it, though. I went looking back through some of my journal entries for the year - and these two in particular made me smile. There have definitely been more than a few good things about the year, hehe...
And, I've managed to figure out over the past few months that I had nothing to worry about in regards to that, not at all.
Yer know, the past year might've been the first year in which I've actually kept a resolution. XD What to do this year, hmm?
Moving out sometime during the year might be a good start, if I happen to get the chance, and the moolah...
But that may or may not happen; tuition to pay for, plus I'd need my own computer, and... Hrm. Oh well, we'll see how it goes, I suppose.
