Of course, I am struck with not knowing what to write about. No semi-deep thoughts this time, I don't think.
Finished work without a lot of ceremony. We were apparently too good and too ahead of schedule for them to need us past the first week of December. Yay, I guess? Got a little giftie of a mug and candy, and a $50 bonus, so that was neat. My neckaches and such have lessened since I stopped working, too, which is a yay thing. They're still there sometimes, and I still occasionally get headaches, but they aren't as bad, thankfully.
Went to the Sunco Christmas party with Trav again a few weeks ago. Actually wore a dress and makeup and things this year - apparently I looked good? The dress, though, was sparkly to the nines, and wherever I went, I left behind a little (well, a lot of, really) glitter. The three chairs I sat on at the party will probably never be the same. XD It was a nice party, though. Ate, danced, drank, got door prizes (mine was a couple of leather-bound photo albums; I just have to find some to put in, now. I'm not a huge picture-taker), had fun. Yay! And even with my shorter hair length (oh, I cut my hair, did I mention that?), I am still the best headbanger ever for the Bohemian Rhapsody. And now I don't get whiplash when doing it!
Finally got paid back by dad, so now I might actually have enough tuition money. Maybe. He's still being an asshat in all sorts of ways, though. Wants to come over for Christmas, but neither Sean or I want him over here, and mom's just waffling on the whole issue ("But-but I don't want to see him all alone! Forget the fact that he's screwing us over with money and guilt-tripping us!"). The fact that he's cancelled pretty much every appointment with their counselor - who was going to recommend he go into addiction counselling on the next appointment, actually - just speaks volumes, really. He likes what he's got now, he isn't going to change, he's going to continue drinking himself into a hole, and what he seriously needs is a swift kick in the ass. Or two or three.
Speaking of Christmas, I've got all of my shopping done as of yesterday (although I haven't got anything for dad; haven't figured out whether or not I will yet). Just need to finish wrapping today, and then start the big bake-off of all the things I have to do. Did more (well, the second batch of) shortbreads last night. Gingerbread men today, I think. Start pinwheels tomorrow, figure out other cookies to go in the tins, too. Need to do an apple pie for dinner, too. Bakebakebake! But I need more flour first, sigh.
I gotted more fish! And they (there's four of them) seem to be doing fine a week after their induction into the tank. They're little glowlight tetras, and I think if they survive another week, I'll go get another two so that they can properly school and hang out and such. XD They're little pigs and will seriously dart when I put food in, and they've got three little hang-out spots when they're not darting back and forth or playing with the current where the filter out-flow is: the farthest corner sems to intrigue them for some reason, they like hanging out in the little rock structure, and the plant (a real one, this time!) that I got them is apparently a cool thing to explore. So cool that when I went to trim a dying leaf off of it the other day, they all decided that they had to defend the plant. All of them came over from the corner, where they'd been hanging out, and clustered around my scissors. I have suicidal fish, or something.
(Right now, they're all swimming circles in and out and around the rock thing. XD)
Been nursing another growing addiction to Neopets, sadly. XD It comes and goes every year or so, though, so I'm sure it won't last long. Just want to get my damn pets painted prettily. Apparently I have a few items that have significantly skyrocketed in value (that old Hypno Helmet is sitting at 6-7 million right now, apparently). So! I shall paint with abandon. I'm thinking probably Faerie or Maraquan for my Draik, maybe Royal for my Krawk (uncertain, really). My lab pet doesn't need painting, ehe, and my Eyrie... Well, I kinda like her electric, which is her current colour (and besides that, it's a retired paintbrush and you can't get it from anywheres XD). There aren't a lot of good Eyrie colours, sadly.
Annnnd. I think that's it! I should go get started on that wrapping now, yes.
