Aaaaaah T-1 week to figure out WTF to do with Midgard characters. Hopefully brain will not go boom by then.
I think I'll spend tomorrow writing up the Second Heaven apps, though. After I get back from my new job. (Easiest interview ever - Trav says over MSN that his dad needs someone to clean the offices out every weekend, I say sure, boom, I'm hired.) At least I'll finally have a bit of leeway in spending money.

Sigh. My last fish seems to also have succumbed to the swim-bladder malfunction. Not dead yet, but... Well, the others didn't last particularly long. I don't think he will, either. I'll have to empty out the tank and give it a good scrub after this, I suppose... And then figure out if I want to put anything in it, or just give it a rest for a bit.

My short-term memory is the worst thing ever. In the past week, I've managed to set the kettle on to boil probably, oh, fifteen times, and then completely forget about it. I'll usually have a craving for hot chocolate, put on the kettle, wander away to do something, and then (eventually) come back to find the water cold, only to set it on again, and the cycle repeats. If I did not have a kettle that had an automatic shut-off, who knows how many would have boiled dry and scorched by now. XD

*shuffles off to work more on layout, mwee*

Sorry about your fish. I have had several tanks worth break my heart, and several others astonish me with their sturdiness. I do find myself constantly wondering if my fish, with carefully balanced PH water and the best medical care I can manage, with me buying water for it (nothing from the tap around here!) die off so easily, how many of those "catch and release" fish from the local (polluted, non PH balanced, icky) ponds and rivers survive?

And yeah, automatic turn-off kettles have saved my life repeatedly. I am the only person that I know of that has MELTED the "whistle" on her teakettle (stovetop) by having it boil dry. I got a little digital kitchen timer and tucked it in my pocket - it at least reminds me that I need to go get something to drink, especially when I am engrossed in work that I enjoy.

Feh! Those buggers probably have years of immunity built up, while these flashy colourful ones have years of crossbreeding and disorders building up, just ready and waiting to go. >.> That's really the only explanation I have for what happened to the tetras - the last one held out for so much longer than the rest without falling ill, so I'm thinking perhaps it was just some sort of genetic disorder. Ah well.

...Aren't those whistles normally loud? XD They annoy me too much; could never get one of those, even if it would force me to respond. The timer is a good idea, though!
