EDIT: ALSO, JUST BECAUSE YOU WRITE NOVELS DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE 'SKILL'.

I only have to cite 'Night Travels of the Elven Vampire' to prove this.

------

Gardslkghhdsfljf.

So I'm sitting here studying for my next two exams (Phonology tonight and Chinese tomorrow!) and distracting myself slightly with Furc. And two very annoying things occur.

A) One of the non-staffies sitting around in the OOC room starts shitting all over himself when mention of applying for staff surfaces, and doesn't fucking stop. "Woe woe woe! I'm useless, I suck, there's no way I could ever make it to staff, I ruin everything I touch, whinewhinewhine." I shit you not, every line that he types is some sort of diatribe against himself.

So some of the other people sitting around try to comfort him and encourage him. I, meanwhile, am stuck twitching. Either he a) has serious self-esteem issues, or b) is fishing for sympathy and/or compliments. Either way, it's fucking annoying. God, people, grow up and have a little confidence in yourself. Morons. It doesn't matter what people think of you or your actions! It doesn't matter what I think of you! Just stop being so goddamn passive-agressive whiny before my urge to bitchslap you rises.

B) While this is occuring, another group of us start talking about stuff that could bud off into some sort of philosophical discussion thing. War, human nature, etc. I counter someone's viewpoint that 'no one's perfect, because otherwise war wouldn't exist' with something about how even the gods have been known to go to war, and they're supposed to be perfect. He counters that with something vaguely Christian-esque, and I say to myself, 'oh, yay, religious discussion! Those are fun'.

But three other people immediately say things along the lines of 'stop right there'. Eh? What's wrong with discussing religion, I ask. 'It just leads to fights!'

...Well, no. Not if you, you know, discuss it peaceably and don't react terribly because someone else has a different viewpoint than yours. Like civilized people. Annette and I do it all the time, and we've never gnawed on each other!

So I tell them that, and attempt to get back to the discussion, and am immediately shut down again. Sigh. Then the person I was discussing with says that he's not really in the mood for heavy discussion, and I stop then. No fun discussing just by yourself, after all.

But people who shut down discussions because they can't fathom that other people can actually talk about things without arguing? Thumbs down!

I find little taboo to talk about... it bugs me sometimes how conversation goes a certain way and suddenly someone says we can't talk about it anymore.

Kind of like in one conversation, once someone started talking about lesbians, another person said they didn't want to talk about it... so instead of not reading or not leaving the room, the entire room had to stop talking about it.

People are dumb.

I guess when you're in a position that can be seen as "taboo" more of the dumbness tends to show up.

If I say I'm lesbian, it's obviously a joke.

And if you believe me and are a straight female, that gives you the right to avoid me as I look femme and totally broke your image of what a lesbian should be and I look just like you...

I'll take over this world yet...

And if I say I'm a child-disliking bisexual open-minded half-furry pagan, that's all a joke too, huh? XD My parents especially give me a lot of grief over what I am.

We'll break all their minds, and they shall be sheep for the taking! *shakes fist*

You know, this really cements it for me.

We should talk some time. You strike me as the kind of person who can have an involved, stimulating discussion about anything or nothing at all.

Hah. See, that's an unfortunate side-effect of seeing me write. I'm much more fluent in writing than I could ever be with speech. Words flit out of my goddamn head before I can even speak them, half of the time, hehe.

I'm good at discussing nothing, though! Not sure how stimulating it might be, though. XD

This isn't about seeing what you write, but rather the way you went "Hey, we can discuss something interesting and not vapid? YAY! Oh no, I can't? Fucknuts"

The attitude there is far more compelling than your general eloquence.

Plus I think you put yourself down too much. I'll be the judge of your speaking abilities when I experience them.

Now it's just a matter of when :)

Even then, though, I'm terrible at debating things in-the-moment. My big brashy confidence all gets blown away, sigh!

Hehe, we'll see. You are a scary internet stranger, after all. XD

Who says we have to debate?

How does one debate nothing, anyways?

...I guess you do have me there.
I am strange (wouldn't have it any other way)
I am on teh intarwebz.
And many people do consider me to be scary. But not for the reasons you're implying ;)

Ummm, would having testimonials from other internets peoples make me less ominous? I have a number of people from the internets whom I have met and not raped till dead, eaten their flesh nor sewn their skin into my clothing :)
(Bonus points if you get the ref)

Or... you could just trust that while I may be scary and strange, I am not scary strange in a bad way, and besides there's the whole meet in public thing.

Don't mind me, I just like making new friends who are, you know, LOCAL... especially ones as interesting as you.

(And no trying to say you're not actually as interesting as you look! Shush! Accept the damn compliment for once! ;)

I am unsure, but there's probably a way!

...But have you done the raping/eating/sewing outside of that order?

Like I said, we'll see! I'm shaping up to have a busy summer, between classes, jobs, and the boyfriend running me ragged. So I shall have to think about it, and stoof!

(NO MUST NOT ACCEPT COMPLIMENTS EVER RAWR)

With someone as crazy as you? I think we'll manage it.

I've only raped brains with horrific internet links, eaten the flesh of dead animals, and sewn textiles back in high school. Alas.

I understand. *le pout*

(SUCK IT UP. Me being this forward is completely out of character, and only happens around exceptionally compelling people. Like yourself. Which means you're awesome.)

((DEAL WITH IT.))

(((Otherwise I'll stop holding back on them.)))
